Sustainability at Mantra on Northbourne 

Here at Mantra on Northbourne we are committed to embedding sustainability into every facet of our daily operations. We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey and are continually striving to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. Below are some of the initiatives we have implemented to date.

Dry Amenities

We are delighted to share our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. As part of this initiative, we have made a significant decision to eliminate single-use dry amenities, taking a bold step towards a plastic-free environment.

We understand the importance of preserving our planet for future generations. By removing single-use plastic amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps from our guest rooms, we are significantly reducing our environmental footprint. Instead, guests can request dry amenities by calling room service or visiting our friendly team at reception.

Large Amenities

As part of our ongoing efforts, we have made the proactive decision to move to large format amenities, replacing our single-use plastic common amenities with eco-friendly pump dispensers throughout the hotel. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles, we are significantly reducing the amount of waste generated by our operations. This commitment aligns with our dedication to environmental stewardship and reflects our ongoing efforts to improve sustainability in all aspects of our hotel.

Recycling

At Mantra on Northbourne, all hotel waste is separated into co-mingle, cardboard, food waste and general waste, minimising our impact on landfill.  In addition, we have taken a number of steps to further reduce water and embrace a circular system.

Accessibility

Mantra on Northbourne offers apartment-style accommodation as well as the convenience of spacious and comfortable hotel rooms while accommodating to the diverse needs of all our guests including the needs of those with mobility devices.

Our apartments as well as the hotel rooms do include wide doorways and corridors allowing for easy access for mobility devices such as wheelchairs or walkers while our bathrooms do have the available hand rails and support rails in place to allow for easier access in and out of the bathtubs/shower. However, we don’t have accessible shower rooms.

We also understand that external access is crucial for our guests and we have ensured that there is always a smooth and safe exit and entry when arriving on the property by placing all designated parking spaces and drop off points as close as possible to lifts and main entrance points ensuring the easiest and safest routes possible.

Additionally, while we do not yet accept pets at the Mantra on Northbourne we do accept and welcome assistant animals and will do our best to accommodate them and make their stay as comfortable as possible too.
